How to play Banpei
- Draw an ordinary loop through the centers of cells.
- A Banpei puzzle may have three types of clue pearls ("sentinels"): unshaded, shaded, and caged.
- All sentinels sit in the intersection between 4 cells that "surround" them.
- Unshaded sentinels must be surrounded by exactly 3 line segments.
- Shaded sentinels must be surrounded by exactly 2 line segments that aren't directly connected to each other.
- Caged sentinels must be surrounded by exactly 2 line segments that are directly connected to each other.
