How to play Barachois

  1. Draw barachois (BAR-a-shwah/BEAR-a-shwah), ordinary paths through the centers of cells whose endpoints are on board edges (they appear to run from one "edge space" to another).
  2. Shaded cells are blocked out and can't hold path segments or clues.
  3. A barachois must change direction on an unshaded pearl, and can only do so on unshaded pearls.
  4. The barachois together cover every unshaded cell, and can't cross each other or share a cell.
