How to play Hedges

  1. Shade rectangles of cells ("hedges") that may not be 1x1 and cannot go on numbers. Two hedges can't touch royagonally.
  2. No 2x2 of unshaded cells is allowed.
  3. A number pair shows the minimum distance (in orthogonal steps, stepping only on unshaded cells) it takes to get to each other (two 1s would be adjacent, for example).

Breaks rule 1: Shade rectangles of cells ("hedges") that may not be 1x1 and cannot go on numbers. Two hedges can't touch royagonally.
