Place unshaded pearls ("pillars") and regions on the board.
Shaded cells may not carry pillars.
Shaded pearls ("forests") are placed as clues such that each region contains one pearl, with containment meaning the pearl is >50% inside the region.
A region is any triangle on the board, counting the smallest triangles and never triangles made of other triangles.
A number indicated by the puzzle (a la Star Battle's star count) denotes the number of orthogonal steps in which, if two pillars are that distance apart or less, a line must connect them unless they have orthogonal line of sight, and any triangle of 3 lines is a region (though it need not be between 3 pillars).
Pillars may not be adjacent in any of the 8 directions.
Arrows on the board denote directions from that arrow in which there are multiple pillars.
Every pillar must make at least one region.
No enclosed space can be not made of triangles (e.g. a parallelogram is disallowed; two triangles that together make a parallelogram are allowed because that's technically two regions).
